Using Your Dog to Meet Women
It’s common knowledge that a dog is a man’s best friend, but can your dog also be your best wingman? There are a lot of great love stories that start with a meeting at a dog park, but before you grab a leash and rush out, here are some Dos and Don’ts on using your dog to meet women.
Do:
If you are really looking to meet other dog lover’s, you’re going to have to take your dog out to the dog park. Here are some things to do before you set off and to keep in mind once you’re there:
Train your dog very well. That cute puppy isn’t going to make a good impression if he won’t come when he’s called and steals the other dogs toys.
Pick a friendly breed. There are no “vicious killer breeds,” but it’s equally true that a Yellow Labrador’s mellow face and wagging tail make people much less nervous than a Pitbull’s exuberant bounces. Pick a breed that’s known for good manners.
Make a regular routine. Try to go to the same dog parks on the same days at about the same time every week. You’ll start to meet the regulars and see just who’s really available at the park.
Following the points above, talk to a woman slowly over the course of weeks. Unless you two have a great conversation right away, you don’t want to set off red flags for her by coming on too strong at first. A strange man with a dog is still a strange man so don’t be a creep.
Carry business cards. If the opportunity comes up, it’s easier to give a woman a business card than think of a way to get your info into her phone. Business cards are quick and easy, and make you look good.
Bring lots of toys to the park. If you want to meet women, you should have plenty of dog toys to spare. Meet the dog, meet the woman.
Don’t:
There aren’t that many Don’ts to this game, but there are two things that you simply should not do.
Don’t get a dog just to meet women. You might think that it’s a foolproof idea, but the truth is that dogs need a lot of work and care. If you don’t really care for dogs, or you don’t have a lot of time for them, getting one to try to pick up women is just cruel to the animal and misleading for the women. Dogs as a pick up line are for animal lovers only.
Don’t train your dog to follow a particular woman. It sounds like a cute way to meet someone, but it’s actually a bit weird and will be obvious. All the women at the park know how to train dogs. They’ll know
If you have got a furry pal on your side and you’re ready to go have fun and perhaps meet an equally dog loving woman, now’s your chance.
